MECHANIC OF THE YEAR CONTEST
OFFICIAL RULES
NOTE:
This Contest is intended for participation in the United States only,
and shall be governed by and construed in accordance with U.S. law without
regard for any applicable conflicts of laws rules. Do not enter this
contest if you are not located in the U.S. at this time.
NO
PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. PURCHASING WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR
CHANCES OF WINNING. ENTRANT MUST BE A LEGAL RESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES,
16 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER. VOID IN PUERTO RICO AND WHERE PROHIBITED BY
LAW.
1. HOW TO ENTER: Contest starts 12:01 am Eastern Time
(ET) on 3/3/03 and ends 11:59 pm ET on 8/1/03 (the “entry period”).
There are
two ways to enter the contest, online and via the mail. To enter
online: go to www.all3every3.com
read the directions; follow the links to the contest site; provide the
information requested including your name, date of birth, complete mailing
address, email address, phone number, and level of experience (certified,
amateur, or student); answer the questions indicated; type your essay,
in English, “Why I think I should be the A3E3 Mechanic of the
Year”; and click to submit during the entry period. Only one entry
per person and per email address. To enter via the mail: Hand-print
or type your name, date of birth, complete mailing address, phone number,
level of experience (certified, amateur, or student) and your essay,
in English, “Why I think I should be the A3E3 Mechanic of the
Year”. Entry must be on one side of a piece of plain or lined
paper, no larger than 8 ½” x 11”. Mail your entry
to: A3E3 Mechanic of the Year Contest, P.O. Box 4320, Manhasset, NY
11030-4320. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by August 1, 2003 and
received by August 8, 2003. Only one entry per person or address. Regardless
of method of entry, only one entry per person will be accepted. Subsequent
entries submitted by the same entrant will be disqualified. Individuals
entering in the “certified” category are required to include
ASE certification number.
Essay must
be no more than 200 words in length. Entry must be in keeping with the
Sponsor’s image and may not be offensive nor can it defame or
invade upon the publicity rights or privacy of any person or otherwise
infringe upon any person or entity’s personal or proprietary rights,
as determined by the judges in their sole discretion. Entries must be
original and shall become the sole property of the Sponsor and will
not be returned. Incomplete entries and entries not complying with all
rules are subject to disqualification. No correspondence regarding entries
will be acknowledged or entered into with entrants. By entering, each
entrant, regardless of entry method, forfeits to Sponsor all rights
to the content of his/her entry and the concepts embodied therein. “Releases”
(as defined below) are not responsible for late, lost, incomplete, illegible,
garbled, stolen, damaged or misdirected entries, or for postage due
mail (all of which such entries are void).

JUDGING CRITERIA: All entries will be judged by a qualified
panel of judges from All 3 Every 3 under the supervision of Marden-Kane,
Inc. on the basis of: knowledge of car care (30%), passion for your
car (20%), and All 3 Every 3 knowledge (50%). In the event of a tie,
the entries involved will be re-judged by an additional qualified judge
who will serve as a tiebreaker and evaluate the tied entries according
to the criteria listed above. All judging of eligible entries will be
under the supervision of Marden-Kane, Inc., an independent judging organization
whose decisions are final in all matters relating to this Contest. Potential
winners will be notified by certified mail, return receipt requested,
on or about 8/22/03.

PRIZES: (1) Grand Prize: All expense paid trip for two (2)
to the UAW-GM Quality 500 race at the Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte,
N.C. on October 10th, 2003. Grand prize also includes Pit Passes for
two (2) to the same NASCAR race, where winner will be the honorary pit
member for a Petty Enterprises team for the entire race. Trip includes
coach airfare for two (2) to/from a major airport near winner’s
primary residence to a major airport near the location of the race,
two (2) night’s hotel accommodations (double occupancy) to be
selected by Sponsor, and ground transportation, and $600 spending money
for the winner and their guest. If winner is a minor he/she must be
accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Travel and accommodations
subject to availability, and certain restrictions/blackout dates may
apply. All expenses not expressly indicated are the sole responsibility
of the winner and guest. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) is $3,100.00;
actual value depends on point of departure and current airfares at time
of travel. (3) First Prizes: Two (2) pit passes to the race of the winner’s
choice between October 1, 2003 and September 31, 2004 plus $100 spending
money per winner. ARV $550.00 each. Total ARV of all prizes is $4,750.00.
Prizes consist of only those items specifically listed as part of the
prizes. All taxes and other expenses incurred are the responsibility
of the individual winners. Limit one prize per person, per household.
No substitution, cash equivalent or transfer or prize permitted, except
at the sole discretion of the Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute
a prize of equal or greater value if an advertised prize, or portion
of a prize, is or becomes unavailable. . Guest of Grand Prize winner
must (i) be 18 years of age or older, unless a child or legal ward of
the winner, (ii) travel with winner on same itinerary, and (iii) sign
and return a travel liability/publicity release (unless prohibited by
law) prior to the issuance of travel documents. All potential winners
will be subject to verification of eligibility. If winner is a minor
under applicable state law, winner’s parent or legal guardian
will be required to sign and return any documents required on the minor’s
behalf.
4.
ELIGIBILITY: Open to all legal U.S. residents, excluding residents
of Puerto Rico, who are 16 years of age or older at time of entry. Employees,
volunteers, interns and agents of The Armor All/STP Products Company
and its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising and
promotion agencies, including Marden-Kane, Inc., and their immediate
families (spouse, parents, children, and siblings and their respective
spouses) and individuals living in the same households of such persons
are ineligible to enter or win. Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited
by law. Sweepstakes subject to all applicable federal, state, local
laws and regulations. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by
these Official Rules and accept decisions of the Sponsor and Marden-Kane,
Inc. as final in all matters relating to this Contest.
Use of
automated entry software is prohibited. In the event of a dispute over
the identity of an Internet entrant, entry will be deemed submitted
by the authorized holder of the email address provided, as solely determined
by Sponsor. The Armor All/STP Products Company, Marden-Kane, Inc., each
of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising
and promotion agencies, and all of their respective employees, officers,
directors, shareholders, and agents (collectively, “Releasees”)
are not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry
information, or for any human error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed
data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures
of any telephone network, computer equipment, software, inability to
access any Web site or online service, or any other error or malfunction
which may affect an entrant’s ability to enter.. Entry materials
that have been tampered with or altered are void. Proof of emailing/mailing
entry does not constitute proof of delivery.
If the
judges determine, in their sole discretion, that there is any suspected
or actual electronic tampering with the Contest, or if technical difficulties
compromise the integrity of the Contest, the judges reserve the right
to void the entries at issue and/or terminate the Contest (or any portion
thereof) and judge those eligible entries received as of the action
requiring such termination date. If the Contest is terminated prior
to its expiration date, notice will be posted at http://www.all3every3.com.
Any attempt to deliberately damage the web site, or tamper with or undermine
the legitimate content or operation of this Contest is a violation of
criminal and civil laws. and subject to legal action by the Sponsor
or its agents, who reserve the right to seek remedies and damages from
any such entrant(s) to the fullest extent permitted by law..
5.
TO CLAIM PRIZE: Potential winners will be notified by certified
mail, return receipt requested, and will be required to complete and
sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and a Liability, and where legal, a
Publicity Release, which must be returned within 7 days of issuance
of prize notification. If the affidavit and release are not returned
within the time period, properly executed, or is returned as undeliverable,
the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.
6.
LIMITATIONS: Releasees are not responsible for any typographical
or other errors in printing, the offering or administration of the promotion,
or in the announcement, awarding or acceptance of prizes. Releasees
have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, loses, or damages of
any kind resulting from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the
prize or participation in this Contest (including, without limitation,
any travel related hereto).
7.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: By participating, entrants agree to irrevocably
assign and transfer all rights, titles and interest in and to their
entry and essay, including but not limited to, copyrights to the Sponsor.
Winners are responsible for the payment of any Federal, State and local
taxes on prizes and for any other expenses relating to use of prizes.
Grand Prize winner will be required to furnish his/her social security
number which will be used for the sole purpose of preparation of any
tax forms as required by law. Grand Prize winner will receive a 1099
form reporting the actual value of the prize. Winners consent to the
use of their name and/or photograph for promotional purposes, including
online announcements, without additional compensation, except where
prohibited by law. Entrants agree that their entries will be owned by
the Sponsor and its designees shall have the right to publish, use,
adapt, edit and/or modify such entries in any way, with or without attribution,
including in commerce and in any and all media worldwide, including
but not limited to the Internet, without limitation and without compensation
to the entrants. Entrants represent that their entries, and the Sponsor’s
use thereof, will not infringe upon the rights of any third parties.
Information collected from entrants is subject to the Privacy Policy

8.
WHO WON? The names of the winners will be available on http://www.all3every3.com
on or about 9/15/03 and will be available by mail between 9/13/03 and
12/31/03 by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to: A3E3 Mechanic
of the Year Winners, P.O. Box 6000, Manhasset, NY 11030-6000.
